Anti-Graffiti Coating
We’ve got something against sprayers
Art or annoyance? At least for the owners and operators of public transport services or private and public buildings, the answer has been clear for a long time: graffiti is an ugly annoyance, the removal of which is also an expensive business. A new product now being marketed by ThyssenKrupp Stahl AG should help to ease the graffiti front: lacquered steel strip to which graffiti cannot even stick in the first place. Among other things, ThyssenKrupp Hoesch Bausysteme GmbH manufacture steel façade elements.
The anti-graffiti effect is achieved by a transparent lacquer coating with a special anti-graffiti additive that prevents the paint from the graffiti spray-can from reacting and binding permanently with the surface. The graffiti sprayer does not at first notice the effect. The effect only becomes apparent when cleaning is carried out: graffiti can be simply and rapidly rinsed off with clean water. If you want, you can even scratch it off with your fingernail.
